About the ASC

The American Studies Center is located in Naryn City, Kyrgyzstan (in the heart of Central Asia). The center is operated by Naryn State University staff and Peace Corps Volunteers. We offer English clubs for all levels (beginner to advanced), with a focus on developing future teachers and community leaders. Our classes include:

• TOEFL Classes (for teachers, students and professionals)
• Teacher trainings
• Beginning French
• Beginning Spanish
• Guitar Club
• Movie Club
• Study Abroad Prep
• American Culture Club

• Games Club (board games/playstation)

We host special events like weekend scavenger hunts and holiday parties. We also provide access to a free library of 4,000 books and 500 DVDs. In addition, we have greeted such dignitaries as interim Kyrgyz president Roza Otunbaeva and American Ambassador Pamela Spratlen.
